Food: Survival’s Fuel

Food is how you stay alive.

Eating

Food isn’t about taste. It’s about staying alive. Know what keeps you breathing, what won’t kill you, and how to get it when nothing else is left. A full stomach means another day. An empty one means you’re just waiting to die.

Food You Should Eat

Know what fills you and what kills you, and learn to tell the difference.

01

Meat Matters

Make sure your meat is hot in the middle. Doesn’t matter what the outside looks like – pink and hot is what keeps you alive. If a dog will eat it, you can.

02

Spice is Survival

Rations are fine if you know how to make them edible. Spices aren’t just for flavor – they’re what turns survival food into something you can swallow without wanting to die. Learn to carry small packets of seasoning.

03

Broth is Life

If you can, drink the broth. Can’t make broth? Suck the bones while you walk. Some bones are good for stabbing later. Everything has a second use – food is just the first one.

What will kill you

Death on a Plate

Free Food Isn’t Free

Don’t accept food from people who want to give it to you. Anyone giving away food is planning to take something else. Accept food from people who charge you or people who cook it when you say so. Free meals cost more than you can afford.

Green Things Lie

Hard to tell if green things have gone bad. Eat things that aren’t green. Vegetables hide their rot better than meat shows its problems. Stick to what you can see going wrong before it kills you.

Mushrooms are Death

Don’t eat mushrooms. It’s too much work to tell you what ones are going to kill you, so just assume they all will. If you’re starving in a forest, kill a rabbit instead. Mushrooms aren’t worth the gamble.

Bad Food Gets Worse

If you ate something bad, upchuck it now or upchuck it later. Your body knows when something’s wrong – listen to it. Better to be hungry than dead. Poison doesn’t get better with time.

Get Your Own Food

Hunting isn’t a skill. It’s survival. Know what moves, what doesn’t, and how to turn anything that breathes into your next meal. Nature doesn’t care if you’re hungry – only that you’re smart enough to eat.

Mountain Survival

If you’re going up a mountain, go where the goats are. Goats need everything you do. They know water, they know paths, they know survival. Follow them, and you’ll find food.

Forest Hunting

Starving in a forest? Kill a rabbit. Don’t waste time with mushrooms – they’ll kill you faster than hunger. Meat is life. Learn to skin fast, cook faster.

Water & Hunting

People who live by water are “baked in the heads” – avoid their advice. But water means life. Learn to fish, learn to set traps. Moving water means moving food.

Bones are More than Food

If you can’t make broth, suck the bones while walking. Some bones are good for stabbing in a pinch. Everything has a use – food is just the first one.

Meat Matters

Hot meat in the middle is all that matters. Outside can look rough. Pink and hot keeps you alive. Dog test: if a dog will eat it, you can. Anything else is just waiting to die.
